The FHIR-based centralized Electronic Health Record system is a digital health platform designed to improve healthcare data management and interoperability across African health systems. It enables the Ministry of Health to oversee national health data and policy planning, while hospitals and healthcare providers can securely access and update patient records through standardized FHIR APIs. The system also empowers patients to access their medical records and manage data consent, giving them control over which healthcare providers can view or share their health information.
